Other Applications
Affiliated company Century Corrosion Technologies can protect a broad range of equipment with traditional and specialized coatings.
Equipment protected by Century Corrosion includes ground storage tanks, all types of vessels, valves, pumps and pump housings. Every assignment receives the same attention as the most-complicated subsea BOP stack.
Century Corrosion can easily accommodate your biggest projects. Its facility is entirely enclosed, with segregated bays for applying the latest in coating technologies. A separate, environmentally controlled warehouse keeps coatings protected from the elements.
Specialized knowledge
Century Corrosion has highly specialized knowledge of corrosion protection products and systems, and works with your engineers and purchasing departments to make the best-possible recommendation to solve a corrosion issue.
Once a course of action is set, a NACE III Certified Quality Team applies coatings to meet the most-stringent manufacturer and end-user requirements. A typical coating process will include:
- Grit blasting: Recurring corrosion can often be traced to poor grit blasting. Our blasters know their jobs, and multiple levels of inspection ensure the primers will adhere to the metal.
- Cleaning: Every piece of equipment is thoroughly cleaned to remove duct and grit particles prior to moving to the coating station.
- Coating: The coating operation begins within an hour of cleaning to minimize atmospheric moisture contamination. Every coat is checked both wet and dry to ensure proper thickness, using highly accurate micro-test methods.
- Touch-up: Large assemblies undergo customer reassembly after the application of final coatings. If any coating damage occurs, these areas undergo the complete coating process again to make sure protection is 100 percent and ready for shipment.
- Final Preparation: Unlike some other coatings companies, Century Corrosion isn’t done yet. Once the coatings have dried, they remove the heavy-duty tape from areas needing blasting-grit protection, coat them with anti-corrosion grease and cover them with customer-furnished, hard-surface protectors.
